Namrata in Pariś: Day Un

on
La Vie En Rose

Late last year in November I took a trip to Paris with my parents. It was a short 4-day stay in just the city.

If I had to describe Paris in one word, it would be – Poetry!

A place that the Gods created when they were feeling romantic. There is design and inspiration wherever you look.

My conversations with some Parisians who’ve lived there for forever was telling me that the city’s architectural plan following a proper colour pallette and being part of a single manifest was “restricting” to the imagination but eh, what do they say about people not valuing things that belong to them? :p

But really the city is so well planned – its like a painting! Also, the people have found a way to make it colorful in their own ways – Graffitti! and lots of it.

Our first day at The City of Love, and the city greeted us with a lot of love indeed – it was about 10 degress with a spell of light rain. It was a Sunday afternoon so there was a legs-on-the-table kinda vibe all around and it was winter so🤷🏻‍♀️.

Our 50minute car ride from the airport to the Hotel was like an instagram reel, music, effects and all – so beautful. Umm, have I said it too many times already? Meh, who cares – it is that pretty and dreamy!!

Our not-so-humble abode was in a good part of the city so I felt a lot like Emily reaching Paris, opening the windows at her new apartment, breathing it all in with a French song playing in the background (Minus the cute french guy showing me upto my place :p but the porters were french and all bonjour-madame and very very enchantèe so not totally unlike Emily in Paris ;P).

The hotel had a very cozy vibe to it with the most amazing fragrances washing us over with a wave of relief and calm. The rooms tho pretty…but petite (if you know what I mean!) but it had such a cute french balcony overlooking the beautiful streets outside and I was too excited to be complaining about it. So that was that.

We changed, we rested and unpacked. Then it was time to march out with umbrella in one hand, gloves, caps, jackets all on. Today was all about chilling, walking around aimlessly and getting to know the neighbourhood.

We walked around the french streets and alleys with our umbrellas in the rain until it got too cold to handle, when we quickly sneaked into the nearest cafe, “Nai Brasserie” – and on entering not only were we immediately warmed up but also realised how hungry we were.

Lucky for us, this restaurant had a good – vegan menu to choose from and such a warm staff. Turns out, the place was run by the entire family with all the members serving there!

Veganism has really picked up and everywhere you go you can find atleast something to eat if you’re a vegetarian.

So a nice bowl of spaghetti, and one very yummy & fresh pizza (while watching the rain outside) later we again stepped out armed with our warm clothes and umbrellas. Every corner felt like a photo-op – beautiful gardens with pet dogs and owners running around, passing by runners, office goers, shoppers.

Mind you, it was early novermber so the streets were starting to get decked up for christmas so it was just adding to all the beauty.

We caught a glimpse of Arc de Triomphe and The Eiffel sneaking up from behind trees, and buildings. I felt so much like I was in a hollywood rom-com, putting my jacket on the moment i stepped out because “baby, its cold outside!”. ❄️

Ohhhh and how can I not mention – I tried my first ever Éclair at “L’Eclair De Marius“.

Can you believe I had never eaten an Eclair in my life and I eat my first one and where do I do it?

In the mighty Paris itself – every confectiners dream. and it was love at first bite I tell you.

Soft chewy exterior and molten creamy interior – Just perfection! Trebien!

Night was starting to fall and it was starting to get a little windy too, so we stepped into another cute and lively cafe, “Le-Deauville, Champs Elysses” for a nice capuccino post which we visited the Paris Edition of some of the brands so close to our hearts – Nike, Zara, Dior, LV and so many others.

Also stopped for a cute keyring at the souvenir shops and ice cream(s) served in such a fun way (and might I add convenient) way at the beloved “Häagen-Dazs“.

And now after a full day of walking and eating it was time to crawl into bed.

It had been a long day. In 24hrs we had left home, flown over several countries, walked around PARIŚ and it was finally time to call it a day.

Gotta say, first day here, not disappointed at all!😏

Are you enjoying so far? Well the rest of the trip was good too – so I hope you’re excited for the next post!

Bonne Nuit!🌟
